External Data Protection Officer (DPO) Designation Service
In the broad landscape of legal obligations, Local Authorities must necessarily appoint a Data Protection Officer (DPO). This figure, whose tasks, duties, and responsibilities are detailed in Articles 37-39 of the European Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR), plays a crucial role in supporting the data controller and ensuring the correct application of regulations on the protection of personal data. Additionally, the DPO acts as the privileged point of contact for the Privacy Authority for any issues related to data processing carried out by the entity.
These responsibilities can be fulfilled by internal or external subjects to the entity, but it is essential to designate an individual as the DPO through a specific appointment act.
